Paying too much for your electricity?
Many people use their home/office electronic appliances continuously without knowing how much power they consume, both in the ‘switched on’ state and ‘switched off’ state.
Power display, such as those show provided with MENON products will show you that you're probably using more electricity than you thought - and how much it's costing.
MENON meters are more accurate as they use the actual VA (power) values from your devices, and not just theoretical values.
Even when your home appliances are switched off, there is still a small amount of current that is used even when these devices are switched off or in standby mode. This term is coined ‘Vampire loading’.
Save electricity – get rid of Vampire Loading
Once the standby devices are de-activated (typically by a button on the device or by remote control), all power supplied to the ‘automatically switched on’ devices is stopped so they will not be able to draw current that they would normally be consuming when they are off.
Power displays with LCD readouts will help you monitor and subsequently reduce your daily power consumption and which particular device is drawing the most loads with the use of this function.
Why is it good to switch off my computer peripherals?
When an electronic device is left on continuously (standby mode), there is heat building up inside the device that weakens the electronic components and leaves them more prone to premature failure. Simply turn off / switch your device to low power sleep mode to save electricity and extend its life span.
